A mixed bag

It's summer, so I should be wearing either light, bright or pastel colors, right?  Meh.  Sometimes.  I just get a hankering for dark glowing polishes too.  I've been switching back and forth lately.  Here are a few that I don't think I have shown on the blog before.

China Glaze - First Class Ticket

If you are a fan of shimmer you should definitely own this.

2 coats

Color Club - Electric Coral

A bright translucent jelly.

3 coats.

China Glaze - Short and Sassy

Woah mama, hello!

New York Summer - Hot Magenta

2 coats
New York Summer - Poppies

I was pleasantly surprised.

2 coats

The eye searing
China Glaze - Pool Party.

2-3 coats
Max Factor - Fantasy Fire gave me super powers.  I caught this fish with my bear hands.  (pun intended)

Shout out to Esther from Fab Fingertips for making these super powers possible. :D
Ruby Kisses - Raspberry

2 coats.

This is an opaque jelly and it glides on so buttery.

Do you stick to typical summer polish colors or do you live on the edge?

Why Revlon Why?!

Things happen.  I understand.  I will let this one slide ...

I've bought Revlon Royal several times.  Simply put, it is amazing <--- the most overused word out there I know, but my vocabulary is small, so ... it's AMAZING ... capitalization give it more pizazz right?

Revlon - Royal
2 coats ... no topcoat

The HORROR ...

What in the Sam Hill?!  All of the goodness sank to the bottom.

The good bottle is on the bottom.

Oh, but I couldn't just leave it at that.  I had to explore.

Oh hi there pigment.  You got lost from the suspension.  Let me reintroduce you.

Shaking did not work, so I had to poke it, then mix it up.  Unfortunately, after a while it begins to settle again.  I have since seen another bottle like this in the store.  This must be an "off" lot that is lacking in the ingredient needed to keep the pigment in suspension.  On the bright side, my forearms are guaranteed a workout with each use.

The final mani ended up being ...

Revlon - Royal (2 coats) topped with Revlon - Radiant.

Revlon - Radiant also goes by the name of Mosaic.

Revlon - Radiant/Mosaic is pretty nice.

Basically, anything over Royal turns to magic ... and I like magic.

Are you a fan of Revlon - Royal?  Have you had issues with your bottle?

I'm gonna live through my nails for a second

Dang, I seriously want need a vacation.  If nothing else at least polish can put me in that frame of mind for awhile.

Revlon - Tropical Temptation

Ahhh yes there it is.  Perfect color and a perfect name for my current needs.

It reminds me of Revlon - Make Mine Mango, except that I like it better.

This one is more peach pink, where as Make Mine Mango was more orange.  I would say the Tropical Temptation formula is somewhere in between a jelly and a cream.

This is in natural light on SHORT NAILS, lol thanks to THE FIASCO.

Oh and the long nail picture if you prefer :D

Base: Orly Ridge Filler x2
Color: Revlon Tropical Temptation x2
Top: Seche Vite

Kinda juicy in fluorescent light hu?

I hear a lot of complaints about Revlon formula, but I freaking love everything about it.
I agree the formula can be on the sheer side (depending on the color).  Normally though I opt for either:

a.) 2 thick coats OR

b.) 2 thin coats with either
   ~undies OR
   ~2 coats of ridge filler
       (which is usually kinda whitish.)

Is there a polish that puts your brain on vacay?

Like an old pair of jeans

If you're looking for a sheer white, I will hook you up. I have enough for all of us and I just keep buying them, because darn it, it's my favorite.

Today I will show you Revlon - Sheer Pink (006)
WARNING - Crap load of pictures ahead because I love my nails with the color :p

Ahhhh, life is complete.
If you're looking for that "classy old rich lady" look ... look no further ;)

I can not express to you how much I love this look.

It's neat, put together, and just makes your nails gorgeous!

I feel like this is the sheer white version of OPI's Bubble Bath.

Certain polishes make my ears hurt, this one is quietly understated.

All of the pictures above are with flash. It photographs much more white with flash and the visible nail line (VNL) is much more visible than in normal light.

In real life and in normal lighting Sheer Pink looks just a bit pink, but still white.

This polish is sheer, which can be good or bad, depending on your personal preference. Personally, I love how the VNL peaks through, but it is definitely build-able.

All of these pictures are with 3 coats.

I find Revlon works pretty well with Seche Vite, so even a fourth coat to reach opacity is no biggie.

I really love how just about any length of nail will look like pure hotness with the type of shade.

The formula on this one rocks my socks.  I have no problem with streaky-ness or uneveness; it self levels really well.  I love Revlon's brushes in general and it makes working near the cuticle a breeze, as well as around my C-curve, which is often difficult with short fat brushes like from Sally Hansen's Complete Salon Manicure line, ewww ugh.  Anyway that's off topic.
