Somebody's watching me
Please tell me you also get stares like this.
Coco's thoughts, "This bish needs to feed me."
Not sure if she's looking at me or the polish, but damn, look at the sexy beast that is ...
Color Club - Love 'Em/Leave 'Em
Even in the shade slight holo comes out.
Mannequin hands with pizzazz!

Involuntary AB workout
Have you ever woken up in the morning and your ab's were sore, but you didn't remember why?
48 hours before ...
I was feeling super lazy one night, I mean to the point where I was starving hungry, but still had zero motivation. Like the grown mature woman that I am I curled up in a ball in a small corner of my 500 sq. ft. apartment and started to whine. The hubs finally noticed and came over to check what all the hub bub was about. He picked up my my limp body and asked, "what's wrong with you"? "I'm hungry, can you make me food?" I said in a slow slurred speech to of course emphasize my lifeless energy ridden body.
I guess I really must explain. Part of my laziness was from the fact that I had no idea (or food for that matter) about what to make for dinner. Earlier in the evening I even asked for advice in the matter. I pleaded, "what should I eat?" He made no attempt at a decent suggestion. I often used to ask my mom this question when I was growing up. Sometimes she would get so frustrated at my rejection in her food ideas that she would eventually explode and scream out, "what do you want from me, HERE (shoving her forearm in my face) take a bite of my arm already!", or something to that effect. In my opinion, most every meal has to be something I really want to eat; otherwise, what's the point of eating? I don't want to waste the calories on boring meals. Anyway, back from that tangent ... all this lead up to my extreme behavior in the corner.
Of course like a good husband, he finally came up with a suggestion I had not thought of. "Hey we have that polish sausage in the fridge!" Oooo, nice, I was totally excited, "can you fry that up for me?" And so this was to be my dinner. I know, WTF, right. Well, then he made a second suggestion to accompany the sausage, "hey you want a peanut butter sandwich?" hmmm interesting combo. I mean totally off the wall; who eats sausage with a peanut butter jelly sandwich?! Weird, but the sweetness of the jelly and the saltiness of the sausage sounded reasonable.
I scarfed down the deliciousness, but couldn't finish all the sausage, it was so damn greasy. I went to bed thinking, 'damn that was one greasy polish sausage'.
You know sometimes you have those dreams that meld with reality? Well I had a dream I kept waking up from my slumber because I was really nauseous. Well in reality I finally woke up in the middle of the night not feeling so hot. Ugh, I tried to ignore it and go back to sleep, but that shit was just not happening. There is only one way to get rid of that feeling; visit my friend Ralph.
The old Russian standby on quick an easy regurgitation involves one simple ingredient ... warm water. I will spare you the details, but I gulped down my fair share and several yakking sessions later, the yakking ceased and I was finally able to go to bed. Obviously the lack of sleep and bodily dysfunction meant there was no way I was going to work the next day. I got to relax, let my body recover and of course paint my nails.
China Glaze - Rich and Famous
1 coat
Klean Color - Pink Holo 134
2 coats
In the sun and slightly blurry for your viewing pleasure.
Indirect sun.
Wearing these KleanColor Holo's makes me feel like I have acrylic on my nails. They feel very thick and protected. I'm loving their thick jelly formula.
And so the very next day I woke up and my abs were sore and I eventually remembered it was the yakking session that gave me the impromptu ab workout. Thanks hubby for feeding me bad wiener!

I feel slightly old today
Happy Birthday to me! I am very excited mainly because this weekend I will be shoving my face full of deliciousness. My sister makes some killer cinnamon buns and I am crossing my fingers she'll read this in time, hint hint ;)
The MUA nail boards have inspired my b-day mani!
Hello sparkly goodness!
I love it so much. :D
I have to give thanks to the hubby for actually picking the final manicure. Good job!
This is actually a layered manicure so here is what I used ...
Base: Nail Life Nail Revitalizer
(formaldehyde free)
This is a protein based treatment with moisturizers, you can learn more in this post.
After the base, I applied one coat of the slightly streaky mess that is China Glaze - Bahamian Escape.
Somehow I managed less streaks with my non-dominate hand ...
Then I applied one coat of KleanColor Blue Holo 135.
I applied a second coat of KleanColor Blue Holo and top coat.
This picture shows two coats of KleanColor Blue Holo on top of China Glaze - Bahamian Escape with topcoat.
The bottle shots are made even more lovely with my gargantuan hands!
Final Manicure:
Base: Nail Life Nail Revitalizer
Color: 1 coat China Glaze - Bahamian Escape
Color: 2 coats of KleanColor Blue Holo
Top: 1 coat Sally Hansen Clear
Top: 1 coat Poshe
Oh hello sun!
I love the KleanColor Holo's because they give me the sparkle of glitter without the roughness.
Have you tried the stinky-ness of Kleancolor?

Is it 4th of July yet?
Oh wait, that was like a week ago. If you haven't realized already, I am super slow. It's no surprise this is a week late. Actually I am a bit surprised I didn't post it even later.
I hardly ever plan holiday themed manicures, because that just seems like too much work. However, I actually felt like it. Funny, thing though, this was my July 3rd mani. I got bored of it by the forth. lol A super awesome polish followed.
China Glaze - Ruby Pumps
China Glaze - Dorothy Who?
Color Club - Worth the Risque
I have to admit I kinda suck at this tape stuff. It would help if I actually waited for the polish to dry lol. Oh and I just read that making the tape less sticky by sticking it on your skin a few times helps. I need to try that next time.
My niece was loving the stripes so she asked me to do something similar.
Well my real July 4th manicure was ...
The freaking gorgeous
Rimmel - Night Before
615
This is a pretty special polish because it has so many flashes of pure love.
Essentially this polish is purple with shimmer.
BUT OH THE SHIMMER!!! So many colors.
Pinks, reds, yellows and greens oh my!
I have included lots of pictures to show all of its faces.
The yellow and green are very subtle and I would not call this a duochrome at all.
This was two coats, but you could possibly get away with one.
Also this guy dries in 60 seconds so that's pretty cool.
Shimmer!!!
Love this guy!

My Dirty Jet
Ummm so I accidentally made a dupe of a OPI's defective batch of My Private Jet. Actually, NO not a dupe, it's better :P
How did this happen?
I really wanted something brown and burgundy; really rich and delicious. However, after the smoke cleared I some how ended up adding some holo stuff to it and yummy, it became near edible.
(I don't advise the latter)
I probably could have made this more holo; maybe next time. I like this one as it stands.
2 coats in the sun <3
Gosh I don't know where to start. How about a comparison first to the defective MPJ:
Mine is on the bottom.
Definitely more burgundy.
Bottle pic's next!
I think mine is more sparkly too :D
Alright here is what I used:
Cover Girl - Goddess
ZOMG if you don't have this you should! China Glaze - Fairy Dust is similar. I'm sure there are others, feel free to leave a comment ...
Color Club - Love Em/Leave Em
Perhaps a more holo version of something would be better
Color Club - Jewel of a Girl
Color Club - Nothing But Truffel
That very first pic is two coats on its own. Now on to the layering ...
OPI Siberian Nights - How lush. I'm a little mad it looks black most of the time though.
Flash shot!
Seriously, see it's black in most lights.
Natural indirect light. Still hot though!
Aahh only in the sun do you see the deep purple plum.
One day I woke up to sheet marks! Ugh, it was horrible!! I had to go to work all day like this. I'm sure I am the only one that noticed.
Came straight home and layered this baby.
Sunlight picture!
It's definitely darker than in the first picture, hu?
I love these fluorescent light pictures. It makes them so squishy looking.
Here is an incandescent light picture. Still YUM.
What do you think?

Shit bitch mother fucker
yea so I broke a nail.
UGH. This weekend we had to put in a wooden floor in our dumb ass condo for the new tenant. I thought I avoided the whole nail breaking scenario by skipping participation in the carpet removal step. WRONG!
I wore Color Clubs Wild at Heart ... one of my favorites!
Mmmmm purple holo :D
Granted my nails were getting pretty long, so a slight trim would have been a smart idea.
However, as always, taking down length hurts ... my ego.
But you know what hurts more? Ripping a nail off past the quick. F-ing OUCH. Okay so this shit really hurt. Do you see how low that skank ripped off. As always I went into panic mode and shortened the rest before I took this picture.
So what the hell was I doing? I was removing a nail from cement using a crow bar.
Oh and the color on my pinky doesn't match the rest. That's another story for another time.
I guess you'll be seeing a lot of swatches from the left hand from now on.
Isn't this iphone pic really good quality?
So I did end up shortening only the left hand a bit. The lengths of the nails are not all even, but I just couldn't take them down any further.
China Glaze - Side Saddle
natural light

2-3 weeks couldn't pass fast enough, but that ring finger does look kinda cute.

Sorta holo blue franken
I hesitate to post my frankens because I make them so haphazardly. As such, I hope to give you only a very loose guideline for inspiration purposes only, so don't hold your breath for exact measurements.
Darn, I'm sad this picture came out blurry (so I made it small :p), but I still like how its half with sun beam half without :)
This is not color accurate, it looks more like the picture above.
I say this franken is only sorta holo-y because obviously the effect is weak. Sun is required to make it look super special ...
... otherwise it just looks blue, I mean a really cool blue, but still just blue.
Here is a picture with flash. :)
And now for inspiration purposes only:
1. Sally Girl- Mean Streak #812152. (Thanks to For Me, It Works for the name!) There are plenty of dupes though, including -
a. Essie Midnight Cami
b. Sally Hansen - Navy Baby (Salon)
c. Sally Hansen - Blazing Blue (Insta Dri) - this has some green micro stuff though
2. Color Club - Worth the Risque
3. Clear
Have fun!
