Hangover Cure

Seeing as how it is the day after St. Patrick's Day you are either nauseated from seeing so much green or ... just plain nauseated.  Out of respect for the latter (and my own laziness) today I present more pictures and less words.  If you are sick of green, see ya next time ...

Nars - Night Porter

BIG BIG thank you to Emilie! Go visit her blog and give her lots of love.  She gives the best chocolate kisses!! ;)

She also has a YouTube channel

What a beauty (her and the polish! :D).  I really favor dark greens and this one is a complete WIN.

I failed to capture the glory.

Every time I wear it the sun hides. :(
I love surprises.  This $1 polish is pretty sweet.  Run do not walk to your nearest dollar store.

Nail Fetish - Storm

Check out my stamp.  I hardly ever do this, mainly because I suck at it.

China Glaze - Four Leaf Clover

China Glaze - Passion in the Pacific.
Blue/Green shimmer.

A decent dupe of Rimmel - Green with Envy that I showed in my last green post.

Comparison:
The Rimmel has a much more obvious duochrome property.

CQ - Green Gem
This CQ is a weak holo with a weak green flash.

Two wrongs (or rather weaknesses) DO make a right, because I actually really like it.
Illamasqua - Kink

The glorious rubber look!

If you want a shiny look, slap on some top coat.

China Glaze - Outta Bounds

Comparison to Rimmel - Camouflage.  I showed that one here.

Quite obvious that Rimmel has a duo quality that Outta Bounds does not.

China Glaze - Watermelon Rind

This one looks better in person.  Unfortunately, it's very sheer so wear some green undies.

China Glaze - Turned Up Turquoise (neon)

It dries matte.

I like it shiny.  Sorry for my crusty cuticles.

Random: From Left to Right ...
Dark Green Franken - (Black + Color Club - Rebel Debutant)
Color Club - Rebel Debutant
China Glaze - Four Leaf Clover
China Glaze - Turned up Turquoise

What was your St. Patrick's Day mani?

Revelation!

I had a thought yesterday!  The kind that forced steam out of my ears.  Growing up as a FOB, many of the things that happened during my first few years in America didn't make much sense.  In those moments you quickly learn to laugh with the group and assimilate.  Often times it wasn't until years later that I would actually get "it".  Such is the story of ... Green = Horny.  O.o <---  See Illamasqua - Kink in that post.

As a recap if you didn't click on that post: "... in high school when someone wore green, did you guys used to say they were horny? ..."  The sexual undertones were clear, but where did the euphemism come from?!

Finally, some 15 years later I had my 'Aha!' moment ... Thank you Horny Toad!

Toads have warts or horns.  Toads are frogs.  Frogs are green.  Thus Green = Horny.  Ah yes, juvenile humor at its finest.

To celebrate my growth, I though I would show you some greens I really enjoy, which is kind of perfect considering St. Patties day is approaching.  Yay!

First, one more picture of a frog because he is such a beautiful behemoth.

Today I will show you a few of my Rimmel treasures and one from that whoe Sally.

Rimmel - Green with Envy

Rimmel - Green with Envy

Blue, Green

A blue/green duochrome!

If Pure Ice - Heartbreaker had an opaque baby, I would imagine it would resemble this beauty.

Pure Ice - Heartbreaker is similar to NYC - Empire State Blue.  See this post.

Really something.  The pictures speak for themselves!

Rimmel - Camouflage
Rimmel - Camouflage
Warm light.

Love love love the golden glow.
Maybe, just maybe we can call it a duochrome?

Rimmel - Rags to Riches
Much more golden under warm light!

Sally Hansen - Emerald City

Stop. Backup. Yea, emerald is perfect.

I found it at the Dollar Store for ... wait for it ... a dollar.

I have more, many more.  I will show them as St. Patrick's Day approaches! :D

Do you plan to sport green on the 17th this year?  I didn't feel like it last year, but I think I have one picked out for this year.

Is it 4th of July yet?

Oh wait, that was like a week ago.  If you haven't realized already, I am super slow.  It's no surprise this is a week late.  Actually I am a bit surprised I didn't post it even later.

I hardly ever plan holiday themed manicures, because that just seems like too much work.  However, I actually felt like it.  Funny, thing though, this was my July 3rd mani.  I got bored of it by the forth. lol A super awesome polish followed.

China Glaze - Ruby Pumps
China Glaze - Dorothy Who?
Color Club - Worth the Risque

I have to admit I kinda suck at this tape stuff.  It would help if I actually waited for the polish to dry lol.  Oh and I just read that making the tape less sticky by sticking it on your skin a few times helps.  I need to try that next time.

My niece was loving the stripes so she asked me to do something similar.

Well my real July 4th manicure was ...
The freaking gorgeous
Rimmel - Night Before
615

This is a pretty special polish because it has so many flashes of pure love.

Essentially this polish is purple with shimmer.

BUT OH THE SHIMMER!!! So many colors.

Pinks, reds, yellows and greens oh my!

I have included lots of pictures to show all of its faces.

The yellow and green are very subtle and I would not call this a duochrome at all.

This was two coats, but you could possibly get away with one.

Also this guy dries in 60 seconds so that's pretty cool.

 Shimmer!!!

 Love this guy!
