A mixed bag

It's summer, so I should be wearing either light, bright or pastel colors, right?  Meh.  Sometimes.  I just get a hankering for dark glowing polishes too.  I've been switching back and forth lately.  Here are a few that I don't think I have shown on the blog before.

Do you stick to typical summer polish colors or do you live on the edge?

Blending ... not just for makeup.

I don't know what it is about round/oval nails on my hands that just seems off.  They seem to look elegant at some angles, while other times I'm just like, "what is going on here?"  I am constantly doing double takes perhaps because my brain is so accustomed to the squoval.  As a result, I filed my nails back into a more mentally acceptable shape for me, squoval.  I made a short video in the process.

How to file your nails into a Squoval from Round/Oval:

All you have to do is create a flat top and rounded edges.  Then, blend the two together to your desired level of squovalness.

I started rock climbing recently ...

uuuh ... minus the heels.  What the hell was she thinking?  I mean yes there are sexy shirtless men there, but still ...

Landa and Angie have been talking about their short nubs on twitter lately.  I thought mine were short, until I started climbing.

So, I went to town.  Every time I saw a nail file ... I filed.  Eventually I hit my meat.

I went to a drag show recently because I heard they do splits.  I was not disappointed.  Can you imagine the meat tucking this move required?  If only she was wearing ruby pumps this post would come full circle.

Snack Break

I like fruit, how about you?  Raspberries are delicious.  We used to have raspberry bushes when I was growing up and we used to gorge often.  There are all kinds of raspberries, but China Glaze decided to mimic the pink variety ...

Like an old lady

...correction ... the coolest old lady ever!  Sometimes I get pleasantly surprised on the metro.  Usually there is some jerk clipping his nails or doing something else really disgusting.  Recently, however, I saw this old lady (sorry old lady your sun damage gave you away) with a bangin' mani, which inspired me to have something similar. 

She was wearing something dark, not black, but so darn shiny that it blinded me from a far.  She was totally fierce!

Crisp and classic.  Good job old lady, I strive to be like you one day ... minus the wrinkles.
