This little lady right here... Kat from Hooked on Polish started chatting me up on Twitter the other month (you can follow her too... click here.) We've been having a hilarious love affair every since. Like me, and many of you, she has to deal with a little wonky nail here and there. After my last post, "Straight and narrow", she showed me her wonk and decided to try the simple filing technique. She was happy with the results and I was ecstatic for her! She was kind enough to let me share her before and after pictures. AND WHO DOESN'T LIKE A GOOD BEFORE AND AFTER. Sorry for shouting, but I really am THAT excited.

ReplyDeleteHehehehe but hey, as a huge fan of yours, I guess I'll stop crying and try to figure out my own weird nail wonk (Mine grow longer on one side, but if i file the sidewalls then I have a huge empty space on that side. genetics are bitch!)

DeleteWhat you describe, my one middle finger does. It's not drastic, but is noticeable to me. I only file the one side wall a bit to try to balance it somewhat.

DeleteI tried that last night and evened it out a bit, but my thumbs have it really bad (they seem to curl almost over the top at the outside corners) seem to beyond help. Some days I am tempted to whack them with a ball peen hammer in order to straighten them out! Thankfully I am a clutz and refrain since I am adverse to smashing the shit out of my finger.
Oops! Forgot to mention: Way to go Kat!!!! This technique is invaluable. But did we expect any less from the goddess of nail care? I think not!
