Like mom's homemade *(you fill in the blank)*

Everyone has that certain something that makes them feel warm and fuzzy.  And when it comes to nail polish that certain something for me is a nice sheer white cream.  To be more specific, my first true love was Sally Hansen's - Pink Whisper Creme.  I wore this for years, went through at least 20 bottles, no joke.  However, all good things come to an end.  Some devil decided to discontinue it and this is all I'm left with.....

And so my search began for a replacement.  Naturally, I tried not to stray from Sally and eventually found a color that suited my comfort zone and had great staying power.  So, my second "love" was:
Sally Hansen - Sweet Tulip
Picture shows 3 coats
Base Coat: None
Top Coat: No name brand

I will post a wear test soon, but the picture above is from Day 7.  Here are a few more with different lightening and a slightly different nail length.

What a great clean color.  It suits just about any nail length, from nubbins to talons.  I have owned at least 12 bottles of this shade and always buy at least two when I am running low.  I have of course collected other brands in this type of color, but am yet to be convinced.  I just have not worn the other brands as long.  Before I switch I need to make sure its works for me.  In my mind that means at least giving a whole bottle worth of wear (if not two).

Included in this picture, from left to right:
OPI - Funny Bunny
Essie - Waltz
Sally Hansen - Sweet Tulip
Revlon - Sheer Pink

I could wear this color for the rest of my life, as long as it looked perfect of course.

What do you think about Essie Waltz? Hope to see swatches with it soon :))

  4. :)
Do you have a favorite? Or do you love them all equally?

  8. It is my first language, but no longer my dominate one. I have lived in the US for over twenty years now and was only ~7 years old when I came. So, there were many things I didn't know or have forgotten over the years. I only speak and read it now, and even that is getting shaky since I don't use it often.

  9. Wow, now you really have me giving these colors a second look. I still haven't found a go-to color for the simple clean look when I don't want to wear color. One of these might work!

  10. Definitely! These colors would look great on your long nails. If you aren't a rich lady already you can look like one with these sheer whites (IMHO)!

  11. :0 I find it interesting that you seek a sheer white, when most of us are looking for the perfectly opaque white!

And your nails look amazing. They look incredibly strong! What's your secret!!

  12. I know, most people hate VNL, but I like the way it peaks through the sheer white. But, don't get me wrong there is a time and a place for all nail polish colors.

Mwa hahaha that secret is mine, all mine! Actually, that's really the reason I started this blog. I want everyone to be able to have gorgeous nails and show them off. I will cover what worked for me and got rid of my peeling, breaking, etc., in the nail hardener series of posts! :)
