Remember that time I had yellow nails forever?

I love to laugh ... especially at myself.  I would like to share the giggles.

A while back I had yellow nails for what seemed like forever.  I was dancing around that topic here and here.

Finally, I buffed so that I could do a video *see below* and not look like I had jaundiced smokers fingers.  I am not so sure it really translated on film ... this is your first giggle.

Second, and perhaps this will result in a more hardy laugh ... just look at my face.  Snooki was on set and I borrowed her face powder.  My face usually always matches the rest of my body ... LOLOLOL.  Anyway, enjoy ...

You guys know I love and have used DermaNail for many many years.  I have a written review here, as well as a my original video on the topic here.

I will do a full review of the Cutemol at some point because although stinky, it has great ingredients I would like to emphasis.

  3. Yeah girl! First off, being able to laugh at yourself is an admirable quality. Secondly, I will never understand the way film takes normal things and amplifies them! (Or does the opposite- in half the pictures I've seen of myself, I only have half an eyebrow on each side...IRL, I swear I have full ones.) Lastly, this video is so cool! You are a natural on camera!!! XOXOXOXXO

  6. When you mention that you put it over the entire nail is this when you have no polish on? Do you only apply it to the cuticle area when wearing polish? I have been trying for 6 mos to grow my nails - been religiously applying cuticle cream/oil, removing cuticles with remover, etc and they seem to get to a good length then split and break (especially at the base on the side - ouch!) I've had peeling problems too. Hoping Dermanail will help!

    1. Yes, just at the base of the nail if I have polish on (which is almost always). Wait 30 seconds and wipe off the excess. Then apply a moisturizer of your choice. Avoid water for 1hour after and moisturize often.

If they split at the side, try hard not to use them as tools (this is a biggie) and avoid filing the sides of the nail. As always, continue moisturizing and wear gloves with house chores. Good luck!

    1. Thank you!!

Yes. I wear polish at all hours of the day. You can just apply at the base of the nail. Wait 30 seconds or so, wipe off any excess and moisturize immediately after that. Moisturuze further through out the day. :D

P.S. Do you think Dermanail might help with the curling of my nails?

    1. <3 thanks Jenna! I don't think so, but who knows. Extra moisture might help the curling a bit though.

  27. Okay, just called my pharmacist and had them order it for me. Should be in tomorrow night. Yay! Another question, though, how would/do you mix and match this product with things like cuticle oil and Trind's Nail Balsam and Nail Magic? I'm not sure what overlaps what and when I should apply each? Sorry I'm such a newb, but there are so many products out there and it's quite overwhelming!

    1. I would keep Nail Magic out of the picture if you are using DermaNail and vica versa. But moisturize with whatever you would like when using either one.

  28. I received my DermaNail in the mail today. I used it once already on naked (hehehe) nails. I used the cutemol too, and did npt mind the smell at all!

I just painted my nails (gray by gray from sally salon mani) making sure to leave room between the cuticle and the polish...also if i messed up I cleaned it with a paintbrush/acetone...and look forward to applying the DermaNail again before bed.

So today, Valentines Day, will be my DermaNail Anniversary going forward, hahahaha!

Happy Valentine's Day Anna!!! Keep the posts coming...they make my day!!!

  29. how do you put nail polish on after you moisturize your nails?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I moisturize after nail polish application. But if for some reason you get out of order, just wash your hands or wipe the nail with alcohol or acetone before applying polish so that your polish adheres to the nail better.

  32. At last you are getting the kind of recognition you so truly deserve. I cannot believe that a mainstream nail polish company or shopping channel has not snapped you up yet as an ambassador/advisor. Unlike most presenters these days, nail care to you comes across as a lifestyle and not just a job. You have the brains, the beauty and the likeability factor too, so i hope that this is just the tip of the iceberg for your continued success in the nail care world and it eventually becomes your job on TV channel.

  33. Hey Loodie! I just ordered the Dermanail and I'm super stoked to start the treatments. I do have a question though, when you use it, can you still paint your nails or did you have them naked for the entire time you were using the product?

    ReplyDelete
  34. bwhahahha so I just scrolled through all the previous questions and comments and totally found the answer for my question! LOVE YOUR blog, keep the info coming :) newb's like myself devour the info like stupid!

  35. I'm embarking on week 3 of my Dermanail journey, I'm trying to remember to photograph the state of my peely nails each week when I do a polish change.

I recently ordered some Cutemol because whatever is in that stuff is awesome, my skin loves it! You're right about the smell though, but I think the performance outweighs it. Can't wait to read your write up, I hope you've still got it in the works!

  36. Thank you for leading me to DermaNail! Started using the middle of January, and now about 10 weeks later, I'm seeing a healthy white edge. Weeks of clipping/filing the bad stuff off as a result of too much formaldehyde strengthener which caused my very small, very thin nails to peel about half way down, which left only about 1/2 inch of as yet undamaged nail. I have faithfully used DermaNail am-pm with cutemole &/or oil moisturizer. I have high hopes I may actually get nails to the edge of my fingers again. I'm taking pictures. Btw, women in menopause often get really bad nail problems, probably because of dryness (everywhere!).
Question: How long should I use it? I couldn't find anything in the product literature or on their website.
    Thank you!

  37. PS- my jar of Cutemole does not smell bad, so perhaps they changed that element that stank.
