I can't stop taking pictures

I haven't loved a manicure quite like this in a while.  You know the type you just keep taking pictures of even though each one turns out exactly the same.


DOTS!!  Actually, my first dots ever.  I stalk ANOTHER bottle of polish?! quite regularly. I saw this manicure a while back, but recently was looking at her swatches of Quirius nail polish and stumbled across it again.  I just about ordered a bunch of Quirius, still debating...

She is the Queen of Doticures and in general has some of the best color combinations I have ever come across.  My eyeballs want to marry her color combinations.  If you ever need inspiration or something cool to look at head on over ... CLICK

Since I took so many pictures, I will bombard you with them NOW..

Before topcoat it has some 3-D properties.
















But it's just glorious with topcoat!


She has a white version of this manicure, which I can't wait to try as well.













So many players:
Base color: Essie -Licorice (x2)

Dots:
Essie - Haute as Hello, Peach Daiquiri, Mesmerize, Mint Candy Apple, Lilacism
Ruby Kisses - Neon Green, Tangerine, Neon Yellow, Blues Clue
China Glaze - Pool Party
The neon colors had to be double dotted.

    Love it! I need to try a dot mani again. My first attempt was an epic fail. What do you all use to make the dots? Any tricks to it?

      Thanks. Sorry, I didn't see the tool in the picture. I have a set of paper embossing tools that look similar. I'll look at the link and try again. My dots were all uneven and messy when I tried doing a pastel combo for Easter.

      Sometimes my non-dominate hand would slip; I had to pay attention. May I suggest less coffee ... or crack ... whichever floats your boat. :P

    Holy canoli, Loodie, this is gorgeous! I am going to try a black and colour dotted mani, soon. Yes, I am. I like to do dots. I am severely nail art challenged and even I can do dots and have fun nails. :D

    ABOP is definitely the queen of dots, lol! She has gorgeous nails...but so do you! This explosion of color over black simply Rocks...I love fun/funky manis :0)

    I actually love ABOP blog and she really has some freakin cool stuff. I however, tried dotting once and was a complete and utter dot failure. Since then, I have been way too scared to try again. I have great sets of brushes and dotting tools and all they do is sit on my shelf mocking me. Plus, my poor nails have been cut down to the meat and look even more pitiful than ever. Lastly, this is one gorgeous mani!

    I love your nails! I used to dot way back when DEVO was big! LOL And back then a guy noticed my nails and I told them that's how the polish applies out of the bottle, he believed me! *rolls eyes*

    I LOVE the design and can't wait to try it myself. Could you do a video on dotting tools-which one to buy, how to use, etc? I have seen them but have no idea how to use them. I would really appreciate it. Thank you for sharing your art and your knowledge with us.

    I love this look but for some strange reason when I apply a top coat to dark polish it keeps drying with a murky look at the tips of my nails :-( so I have two minds about trying it ...
